President's Address
1: THANKSGIVING
My praise goes to the Almighty God for his benevolence to spare our lives to witness the first ever converge of OIDA aka Orin Day in the Diaspora . If the hairs of my head were made of tongues they are not enough to thank the Almighty God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2: VISION
One of the biggest task under the sun is the gathering of noble men and women. To create a functional group for purposeful impact, people must work unitedly, closely knitted and compact, this in itself is not by accident, it comes with vision and the vision must be bright.
Since the creation of this association and the commencement of my leadership at my inauguration as the president, the first thing I did was to have a mental picture of goals and objectives to be achieved and a mission statement to work it.
The gathering of valuable men and women began as we galvanized the base in search of a common goal. At our first convergence in Atlanta GA, the need to spring into action come to the fore.
3: ACHIEVEMENTS
I was able to mediate and negotiate peace among the communities by using dialogue and conflict resolution mechanism to ensure cordial relationships.
I also invited dignitaries to our meetings to gather beautiful ideas that can propel the association to an enviable height and to meet our set targets and goals .
Security challenges is of paramount importance in our agenda. With the assistance of valuable men and women in the association, drones were purchased to ensure proper technological vigilance on the farm settlements .
Hunters and vigilante groups were put on the payroll to motivate and strengthened the desire to ensure a secured farm settlements .
A healthy community is a productive community, in this light, a healthcare outreach program was created to provide quality health services to people to make them productive. The elderly were given special consideration and assistance as my leadership ensured the provision of food, portable water supply and healthcare services for our senior citizens.
Assistance were rendered from OIDA for the rehabilitation of Orin/Ifaki/Ido road to ensure that farm produce gets to the town in good shape from our farm settlements.
4: PRAYERS
It is also important to reinstate our commitment in making Orin Ekiti the envy of all other towns . This is a journey and your support will serve a spring board in making this laudable dream materialize. Your financial obligation and moral contribution towards the making and expending of this year's budget to support our initiative is germane, including our constant participation and attendance of our meetings.
I want to assure you and reassure you that our commitment in achieving all the goals mentioned above is total. This forum will serve as a catalyst to the growth and development of Orin, our beloved home town and source of our common heritage and patriarchy .
It is also vital to remind you all that our leadership will function under the guiding principles that emanates from our constitution.
5: CONCLUSION.
I want to specially thank Dr Ayo Dada, the scribe of the association, who since the inception of this administration and first meeting on September 27, 2020, has shown himself to be reliable and consistent in the pursuance of our set goals and objectives.
I will forever be grateful for the unalloyed support I receive consistently from Mrs Modupe Ayeni ( My VP), Mrs Olubunmi Elemosho Nee Fasuyi ( Ass Secretary), Mr Tayo Omonijo ( Financial secretary), Mr Bayo Ajibewa (Treasurer), Mr Tunde Aina ( Programme coordinator), Dr Kayode Ige ( Public Relation Officer ) and Mrs Banke Adesola Nee Adeniran ( Event Director), other members who sit on the various committees.
My speech will be incomplete if I don't appreciate our Elder Daddy Adegboyo for his moral and financial contributions, he single handedly paid for The intervention fees , He offered scholarships to the downtrodden in the town to mention but few, I also salute the efforts of Chief Martins Olowo for his contributions towards the growth of the association .
I thank you all for the privilege to serve and it is my prayer that with your support, we will go places and etch our names on the sand of times
Wish all our September birthdays Celebrants
Thank You
